a house in the country

Was just a night on the front porch
We were drinkin' rum and beer
And hometown country music, it filled the night air
We talked about the good times then we gave the dogs bones
It's just a house in the country with a front porch BBQ
It's just a house in the country where we all go to sing
It use to be a school house, where they taught you everything
It's in the middle of a cornfield, by the long and windy road
It's just a house in the country with a front porch BBQ

(You know that old school house was built at the turn of the century. In the middle of a cornfield where it
served the community well. It was after the war of 1812,
the school house was quarantined with the plague
it was mostly children of the royal empire loyalists,
who to this day are still buried in the back)

It's just a house in the country with a front porch BBQ
Yah we sat on the porch swing, we talked about the moon
The dogs were in the cornfield, they were barkin' at a 'coon
Just good friends all together, singing them good time blues
It's just a house in the country with a front porch BBQ
Just a house in the country where we all go to sing
It use to be the school house, where they taught you everything
It was in the middle of a cornfield, by the long and windy road
It's just a house in the country with a front porch BBQ
